Tant Sannie's Pumpkin Chai latte

Halloween is coming up soon, and that means the humble pumpkin is king when it comes to food and drink creations. And to get you in the mood for all things ghoulish, we have conjured up a killer hot cocktail. Whip it up at your Halloween party, or enjoy while watching your favourite gory flicks. The warm cinnamon spice in this drink is a perfect fit for our similarly aromatic, creamy Tant Sannie se Melktert liqueur. For a refreshing cold version, simply let your latte cool and serve over ice. Happy Halloween!


  • 1 bag spiced chai tea
  • u00bd cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puru00e9e
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • u00bd teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 40 ml Tant Sannie se Melktert liqueur
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • pinch of ground ginger
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • pinch of salt
  • whipped cream and extra cinnamon for serving (optional)


In a small saucepan, steep chai tea bag in half a cup of freshly boiled water for about 5 minutes. Add the milk, pumpkin puru00e9e, maple syrup, vanilla extract, Tant Sannie liqueur, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and salt to the tea. Use a stick blender to mix the ingredients together and gently rewarm the mixture before serving. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
