Milktart with Tant Sannie se Melktert


u2022 125 g butter, softened
u2022 1/2 cup castor sugar
u2022 1 egg
u2022 2 cups cake flour
u2022 1 tsp baking powder
u2022 pinch of salt
u2022 2 1/2 cups milk
u2022 1 cinnamon stick
u2022 1 egg
u2022 1/2 cup sugar
u2022 2 tbsp flour
u2022 2 tbsp corn flour
u2022 1 tsp vanilla paste
u2022 80 ml Tant Sanie Milk Tert liquor
u2022 large tbsp butter
u2022 1 tsp ground cinnamon


For the pastry:
1. Cream butter and sugar together in a bowl
2. Add the egg, beating it to mix well
3. Add the flour, baking powder and salt
4. Combine thoroughly to form a stiff doughu00a0
5. Press the dough evenly into a tart tin
6. Blind bake at 180u00b0C for 30 min or until the pastry is golden and crispy

For the filling:
1. Place milk and cinnamon stick into a potu00a0
2. Bring to the boil then discard cinnamon stick
3. Whisk together eggs, flour, sugar, corn flour and vanilla
4. Pour the hot milk into the egg mixture, whisking continuouslyu00a0
5. Return milk mixture to the pot and cook on medium heat until thickened
6. Stir through the liqueur u00a0and a spoonful of butter
7. Pour milk mixture into baked pastry shell
8. Sprinkle over ground cinnamon
9. Leave tart to cool completely before serving.
